Shire Device Meetings
Arts & Sciences
A&S meetings may take place in the heart of Appledore in the workshop at Skunk Hollow, or at Wyndhaven, or even far north at Impatient Cottage. Most A&S gatherings are topic specific, although members can bring any project to work on or to seek help with. To inquire about A&S project nights contact our A&S Minister on the Officer's Page.
Combat Arts
Appledore facilitates fighter practice for Armoured, Rapier, and Target Archery and holds armour making workshops as they are needed. For more information on any aspect of SCA combat, please contact our Knights Marshal or Rapier Marshal via the Officer's Page.
Shire Business Meetings
Appledore's monthly Business Meetings are open to all and typically take place on the last Sunday of each month unless otherwise noted in the previous month's minutes or announced on the shire email list. For any information about the shire or to have an item added to the agenda, please contact our Seneschal via the Officer's Page.
Skunk Hollow is located at 34231 91A St., Oliver, BC.
Directions: Make your way to Oliver on Highway 97. Turn east at the traffic light at the south end of the mall, (346th St). Stay on 346th through the big S curve as it goes past the RCMP station and Fire Hall, then around the end of the airport. Turn right just past the airport. Go straight along the east side of the airport and through a 90 degree turn to the left. Just past the turn, slow down. You'll see a street sign and an SCA directional sign right in front of you. You MUST TRUST that there is a real road here, because there is. You just can't see it until you're already committed to it. Doing this will put you onto a very short but steep road. It's about a ten percent grade, but it's paved. Immediately at the bottom of the hill, turn right into the driveway. This is the site. Meetings are held either in the workshop on your left or in the Feast Hall in the field behind the Manor House of the Honourable Lord Malcolm of Lamont.
